At the precise moment when I see myself without a mask, I cross the threshold where the outside world ceases to have the last word and where being seen is no longer frightening. This gaze, placed upon me, becomes authorization and what I am—even in my chaos, my reliefs, my unexpected—becomes my true face to the world.

…REND CELA POSSIBLE D’ÊTRE VU PAS TOUS. — Ce moment presque sacré où j’ose enfin se regarder droit dans l’âme. Non plus pour juger, corriger ou embellir, mais simplement pour me reconnaître. Voir tout cela, en pleine lumière, sans détourner les yeux. À l’instant précis où je me vois sans masque, je franchis le seuil où l’extérieur cesse d’avoir le dernier mot et où être vu ne fait plus peur. Ce regard-là, posé sur moi, devient autorisation et ce que je suis — même dans mes chaos, mes reliefs, mes inattendus — devient mon vrai visage au monde.
